Their program includes cowboy classics, fiddle tunes, western swing and traditional folk songs. All performed with authenticity and a spirit that reflect the many years they've spent perfecting
and . . . yes . . . enjoying this great music!
Sourdough Slim, whose real name is Rick Crowder, is a musician who learned to love cowboy lore at the source — on his grandfather's ranch in the Sierra Nevada foothills. Slim sings, yodels and accompanies himself on the accordion, guitar and harmonica. Most everyone agrees, his music is infectiously entertaining.
Cowpoke campfires on the lonesome prairies have long gone cold, but as long as there are people like Sourdough Slim, the music of the Old West refuses to ride into the sunset. "I was born to be a yodeling cowboy," he says.
The Saddle Pals' lively music is reminiscent of the great traditional cowboy bands of the twenties and thirties. They have received critical acclaim and recognition for their performances at the Gene Autry Western Heritage Museum and numerous other concerts. They also appeared in the movie "Back To The Future III".
The trio is comprised of Rick "Sourdough Slim" Crowder - accordion, guitar, harmonica, vocals; Robert "Cactus Bob" Cole - fiddle, mandolin, vocals; and Chris "The Prairie Flower" Stevenson - stand-up bass, banjo, vocals. The Saddle Pals deliver a chuckwagon full of entertainment!
